Focus Fund Support Announced.

The Focus Fund is a new fund we introduced to offer bespoke and tailored support to those Film Hub Midlands members that are explicitly and proactively focused on reaching under-represented and diverse audiences. We are committed to ensuring that the breadth of our communities are able to enjoy a range of film and are working to tackle under-representation in the exhibition industry: be that on our screens, in the workforce, or among audiences.

We're delighted to announce support for five organisations through the fund:

Victoria Park Productions, Birmingham

Support to develop and cement Victoria Park’s exhibition work under ‘Film/Gage’ as brand, providing a year-round programme championing underrepresented stories in cinema across Birmingham with a particular focus on local filmmakers.

Caribbean Pop-Up Cinema, Birmingham

Support to develop Caribbean Pop-up Cinema to launch the inaugural SunScreen Caribbean Film Festival in Birmingham and Online, July 2022.

Recognize Black Heritage & Culture, Birminghm

Support to develop and cement Recognize as a year-round exhibitor championing Black cinema in Birmingham with a particular focus on archive and short film, culminating in the annual Windrush Film Festival.
