Social enterprise film company Screen Northants is to run its first film festival in 2019 in Northampton. They have brought together a committee of Northampton residents and students 16-25yrs which will decide on the theme and content, and organise the venues as well as produce films of their own for the festival.

Screen Northants is a non-profit feature film production company which, alongside its production work, aims to give Northamptonshire residents access to Film and to promote the county to the Film Industry. The aim of the festival, which will be held in March, is to celebrate culture and creativity in Northampton, particularly in the town centre, and engage with new audiences, but the form that takes is entirely up to the young people involved.

The Northampton Film Festival has been made possible with support from Northamptonshire Community Foundation and Film Hub Midlands through funds from the National Lottery. Film Hub Midlands support people to watch, show, and make films in the Midlands. Films will be produced with the support of BBC Children in Need, enabling Screen Northants to produce films with Northants disadvantaged young people.

The festival aims to celebrate Northampton, the county and our creative industries
