Are you looking to step up into producing?

Want to learn more about what it takes to produce a short film?

Refreshing skills ready for your Short Film Fund application?

From 11th - 13th December 2024, we will be running three days of workshops for new and early career producers ran by our very own Lauren Parker, BFI NETWORK Talent Executive and Producer at Kato Pictures. The workshops will cover practical skills and will use real documents to guide participants through contracting, budgeting, scheduling, post-production and festival releases.

We will be using the current BFI NETWORK templates throughout the workshop to aid those who might be looking to apply for the short film fund in the 2025 round.

When is it?

The three sessions in the series will take place between Wednesday 11th, Thursday 12th and Friday 13th December at 10:00 to 12:00 each day.

Workshops will be two hours long and will take place on Zoom. Each session will have one comfort break.

Participants will need to attend all sessions.

Who is this series for?

Ideal participants will have experience of producing, line producing or production managing at least one short film or have produced at least one staged play and be looking to take on more short film projects in the future.

We are also open to applications from people with experience from other art forms or in arts management, where skills are transferable to producing.

Participants must be based in the Midlands, over 18 years of age and outside of full-time education.

How to apply?

The deadline for applications is Friday 6th December at midnight.

We want to ensure that the course can be designed to best suit its participants and so please ensure questions are answered in full so we best know how to support you.

Places are limited for the training so please ensure you are able to attend all three sessions before applying.

If you have any questions about the series or your application then please contact the team at: bfinetwork@filmhubmidlands.org.uk
