We are delighted to announce that Mark Done joins the team in October 2024 as the Head of Film Hub Midlands.
Following the departure of Eleanor Thornley, Mark Done has joined Film Hub Midlands and is responsible for the film hub's strategic direction and overseeing the implementation of BFI programmes across the Midlands and leading the Film Hub Midlands team.
Mark’s career has included teaching media and film in secondary schools and working with BFI Education to establish the media arts college network in the 2000s. Mark was recently Senior Relationship Manager at Arts Council England where he was responsible for the Creative People and Places programme in the Midlands and for increasing cultural investment into priority places in the East Midlands.
He is also a PhD student at The University of Sheffield where he is researching neo-Western films.
On joining Film Hub Midlands, Mark said:
"I’m delighted to be joining the talented team at Film Hub Midlands. I’ve already been made to feel welcome by Broadway in Nottingham and Flatpack Projects in Birmingham. I’m looking forward to working with partners across the Midlands region to support and champion the work of people making and showing films and to ensure that more young people get the chance to learn about a career in the screen industries."
Mark can be contacted at: hello@filmhubmidlands.org.
Film Hub Midlands is a partnership between Broadway in Nottingham and Flatpack Projects in Birmingham. Funded by the National Lottery, Film Hub Midlands is part of a network of UK-wide film hubs that supports Screen Culture 2033, the BFI’s 10-year strategic plan.
