Attending the ICO Spring Screening Days 2019 has provided the opportunities to programme titles that we otherwise would not have thought to select.

When working with our programmer, it is often very helpful to know the titles of which we are discussing. ICO Screening Days provide one of the few opportunities to do this. Having been able to see a wide selection of films, from Loro, Rafiki and Eighth Grade to Woman at War, Support the Girls and Beats.

Having had the chance to see such titles, we at SAC are now able to somewhat share part of the knowledge of our programmer, and request titles that we otherwise would not have. One example being Support the Girls. A film that we may not have thought to programme previously based upon the trailer or blurb alone.

This screening days event has also given me the opportunity to represent SAC amongst a wider group of exhibitors, making new connections with festivals and film societies from around the country, as well as other independent venues - including others within the film hub network.

Events such as these are vital for our life blood and the continued challenge of providing an arts space within Stamford that is able to offer contemporary cinema experiences. I hope to attend another one again soon and am incredibly grateful to the support of Film Hub Midlands in helping us to do so. Thank You!
