Discover what rural cinema means to Shropshire at this three-day celebration redefining ‘the rural’ for locals and visitors alike. Films to make you laugh, feel and think, events to tickle your creativity and your taste-buds. Themed cocktails, mocktails and local beers accompany film selections and you’re welcome to take them into comfortable screenings in historic surroundings.

Our local curators have hand-picked these stories about living on the land, or encountering ‘the countryside’ as people from Off. The programme ranges from traditional to trailblazing, with strong viewpoints on what ‘rural’ means, from the hilarious culture-clash of Withnail & I and the dystopian thrills of 28 Years Later, to the frank and tender tale of young farmers in Holy Cow, or the Oscar-winning Flow: an animated story to touch hearts of all ages.

Included in your tickets are free events like The Big Cheese-Off tasting competition at Wem Town Hall or Lewis Heriz’s animation workshop accompanying Kes at Ludlow.
