Support the Next Generation of Disabled Filmmakers
We are recruiting writers, directors and producers to mentor disabled filmmakers as part of our Disabled Filmmakers Mentoring Programme.
This is a mentoring programme designed to support career progression for disabled creatives.

What Does Being a Mentor Mean?
As a mentor, you will:

Support one disabled filmmaker

Deliver 3 structured mentoring sessions (approx. 60 minutes each)
- Have the opportunity to participate in group training opportunities and networking
-
Work towards clear mentee-led career goals
-
Offer practical guidance on:

Career strategy
-
Creative development
-
Industry routes and progression
-
Mentoring is:

Online
-
Light-touch
-
Fully supported by our team and Access Coordinator
You are not expected to:
-
Find your mentee a job
-
Provide unpaid labour beyond sessions
-
Act as a therapist, advocate or support worker
-
Be available outside agreed session times
What You Will Receive
All mentors on this programme receive:

£280 Fee
-
Any expenses related to access for both mentor and mentee are supported

A dedicated Access Coordinator to advise on adjustments and good practice
-
Access to training sessions and networking opportunities
-
Clear session structure and boundaries
-
Talent Executive support throughout
- An opportunity to build your understanding of accessible practice and skills around mentoring.
Who Can Apply to Be a Mentor?
You may be a good fit if you:

Work professionally as a:

Writer

Director

Producer
- Other creative industry roles, such as production and development executives

Have at least 2+ years of professional industry experience

Are a clear, kind and practical communicator

Are willing to:

Work access-first

Adapt your mentoring style

Be guided on best practice for disabled creatives

You do not need to have lived experience of disability to apply.
We welcome both disabled and non-disabled mentors who are committed to inclusive practice.

Time Commitment at a Glance

- An initial meeting with an Access Coordinator to discuss any adaptations you may need
- Attendance at a training session for mentors as well as optional access to cohort training and networking
