Are you a director with a few shorts under your belt but unsure of your next steps? Do you want to learn more about how to direct for television or make that leap from shorts to your debut feature then the Directors Lab is for you.
What is it?
The Directors Lab will provide 10 Midlands-based directors with the opportunity to take part in two days of roundtable discussions and panels with industry experts and most importantly working directors to learn more about next steps in film and television. We hope participants will leave the programme feeling more confident about their own journey and perhaps offer insight into routes they had not thought of before. All whilst networking with other Midlands directors.
When is it?
The programme will take place in person in Nottingham at Broadway Cinema on Saturday 9th March and Sunday 10th March. All participants must be available for both days. The programme is completely free to attend and travel and accommodation will be provided for successful applicants.
Who is it for?
This opportunity is open to directors who have demonstrated a track record of directing through multiple projects as well as receiving some industry recognition. This could be festival selections, screenings of your work, broadcasts, online releases, articles or reviews. Please explain your experience and how you meet the criteria in your application. If you are earlier in your career then we encourage you to apply for the Directors Series opening next year.
- You must be based in the Midlands and provide your postcode at the point of application.
- You must be over 18 years of age and not in full-time education.
