For the first time... Sholay (1975) will be screening in the Midlands as a large scale experience and part of the annual South Asian Arts Festival, An Indian Summer which transforms Jubilee Square in Leicester into an Open Air Cinema.
Considered by many to be the greatest Bollywood film of all time, Sholay topped the Indian box office for 19 years after its release in 1975. The iconic film catapulted Amjad Khan into stardom and helped to make Amitabh Bachchan a 70s superstar bringing in the era of the 'supervillain'.
Alongside the screening will be an array of festivities including Bollywood dancing, music, tantalising authentic Indian food, drinks and popcorn.
This screening will be subtitled.
