Members of Film Hub Midlands, we'd love to meet you!
We've set a date and are looking forward to seeing you at our first Members Meet-Up of the year which will take place at the Midlands Arts Centre in Birmingham from 11:30am - 2pm.
We'll be there to share upcoming opportunities for exhibition funding and providing updates on the projects we are supporting in the Midlands. Two of our members, Midlands Arts Centre and Black Country Touring, will also be sharing presentations on their projects.
Midlands Arts Centre
Midlands Arts Centre will be sharing progress, feedback and interventions that have occurred at the start of their three-year project, Expanding the Frame.
‘Expanding the Frame’ (supported by Film Hub Midlands) focuses on how to significantly improve access to cinema for disabled audiences in the West Midlands.
MAC have been piloting new programmes and events to ensure that disabled people can experience film in an accessible environment, as well as seeing themselves reflected on screen.
David Baldwin, MAC Cinema and Screen Producer, said: “Up until now, MAC cinema has done a fair amount in terms of increasing access to cinema for disabled audiences, but nowhere near enough. This partnership will enable us to literally double the amount of accessible screenings we already do to open up our exciting cinema programme to more audiences.”

Black Country Touring
Black Country Touring will give a talk about their network of community cinemas.
They will be sharing how they are bringing together people from different backgrounds and engaging with under-represented audiences that are typically excluded from arts and cultural activity, particularly in the context of programming and decision-making.

Following the presentations we will allow time for lunch and refreshments at the bar granting the opportunity to network with other film exhibitors and discuss any ideas or ask any questions you might have about exhibition funding.
