Taking place from 17 to 21 November Derby Film festival is back for its ninth edition with a packed programme of special guests, one-off events and film previews.

The Festival opens with a one-off screening at Derby Cathedral of the silent comedy Safety Last! with live accompaniment by the Cathedral’s Director of Music Alexander Binns.

Special guests include director Oscar Harding with his feature A Life On The Farm about his late grandfather’s neighbour. An eccentric farmer that has passion for making home feature films with a twist that is best described as Monty Python meets The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, this documentary is tragic and comedic in equal measure.

Other films confirmed as part of the festival include Occupation: An Island Story, Rosin and FrankThe Sound Of Alexandre Desplat, The Shape Of Water and Hayseed. Preview screenings will include Corsage and Broker.

Derby Film Festival has been made possible with support from Film Hub Midlands through funds from the National Lottery. Film Hub Midlands support people to watch, show, and make films in the Midlands.
