Join writer/director Cassiah Joski-Jethi for a series of workshops covering all you need to know about directing short films.
The sessions will go through the process of creating a short film, from conceiving an idea to the practical aspects of development, funding, pre-production, production, post-production and distribution. Each session will be led by Cassiah but will also feature plenty of time to ask your own questions.
- Session 1 – Idea to Script, Script Development, Funding & Directorial Vision
- Session 2 – Applications, Pre-Production, Casting & Production
- Session 3 – Post-Production, Festivals, Distribution & Career Development
When is it?
The three sessions in the series will take place between Monday 23rd September, Tuesday 24th September and Wednesday 25th September at 6pm - 8pm each day.
Workshops will be two hours long and will take place on Zoom. Each session will have one comfort break.
Participants are expected to attend all sessions.
Who is this series for?
Ideal participants will have experience of directing at least one short film, which can be a student film or a micro budget short. However, more experienced directors ready to apply for funding for their next short will also find the series a very useful refresher. We are also open to directors moving from other artforms such as theatre or visual arts into narrative short film.
Participants must be based in the Midlands, over 18 years of age and outside of full time education.
