Midland delivery partners for BFI Film Academy Short Courses 2023 - 2024. Midlands delivery partners will be announced soon. 

Twenty committed and creative applicants take part in the upcoming BFI Film Academy’s Short Course programme each year.

The course offers an inclusive and supportive experience through a 4-week process of practical and theory-based filmmaking masterclasses, delivered by esteemed screen industry professionals who are working full-time in Film & TV.

Participants receive first-hand accounts of not only what their jobs involve, but also the journeys they took to get there and how participants can forge their own path into the Film and TV industry. 

Once participants have completed the course, they become part of the ever-growing alumni network of both Broadway’s wider network and BFI Film Academy alumni across the UK - and are be presented with exclusive access to events and opportunities such as:

  • Career talks and mentoring, training masterclasses and bootcamps 
  • Paid traineeship placements at film and high-end TV productions
  • Residential programmes with BFI Film Academy Specialist Courses based all around the UK
  • In addition, recommendations provided by BFI Film Academy Short Course delivered by Broadway Lead for local and national arts and cultural organisations, and Film & TV productions who are seeking new and creative emerging filmmaking talent to join their teams!
